Relations with electoral actors and partners

The President of the Electoral Council or the Director General of Elections, within the scope of their respective powers and competencies, may seize an administration of the State, through the Minister of Territorial Administration or directly.

For the sake of efficiency and transparency, any referral to a state administration by the President of the Electoral Council of Elections Cameroon is brought to the attention of the Director General of Elections and vice versa.

Similarly, any referral by the Minister in charge of Territorial Administration, of one of the main officials of Elections Cameroon, is brought by the interested party to the attention of the other.

The Electoral Council organizes consultations with the administration, the political parties, the civil society and the media as part of the management of the electoral process.

A resolution of the Electoral Council sets the permanent consultation framework between Elections Cameroon and the electoral actors.

Ad hoc meetings can be organized at national, regional or local level.

The territorially competent administrative authority is informed of any meeting between Elections Cameroon, political parties, civil society and the media. She participates as of right.

The Director General of Elections or his representative takes part in the meetings organized with the electoral actors.

Elections Cameroon can establish and develop relations of collaboration with public or private partners, national or external, within the framework of the execution of its mission and in the respect of the provisions of the Constitution, the laws and regulations in force.

He keeps the Government informed of the offers, solicitations or collaboration agreements with the partners and sends him copies of the activity reports concerning this collaboration.

ELECAM has established collaborative links with the United Nations and some of its agencies (UNDP, UN Women, UNIFEM, the Center for Human Rights and Democracy in Central Africa), the United Nations African Union (AU), the Commonwealth, the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), the European Union, the Electoral Commissions and Electoral Administrations of the States of Central Africa (CEEAC), the Electoral Institute of Africa (EISA), the Enhanced Electoral and Democratic Support Network (NEOs) and Sightsavers.
