755 085 new citizens enrolled as the 2024 revision of electoral registers comes to a close.

This is the latest figure disclosed by the Director General of Elections, Erik ESSOUSSE, in a press conference granted the media on 3 September 2024 in Yaounde.

Having in its sights the objective of enrolling women, youth and persons with a disability in their great number during the 2024 revision, Elections Cameroon successfully recorded 755 085 newly enrolled citizens, including 443 270 men, 311 815 women, 489 869 youth, 654 persons with a disability and 8 830 Cameroonians established or settled abroad by the end of this revision exercise.

As a result, the national register of voters now contains a total of 8 116 960 electors pending clean-up.

These figures show a significant increase in enrolment under all the categories targeted by Elections Cameroon, youth and women, for the most part, raising their enrolment rates to 64.9% and 41.3%, respectively, as compared to the 2023 revision rates.

It is worth pointing out that at the end of this 2024 revision exercise, ELECAM’s achievement rate stood at 116.17%. These results reflect efforts deployed by ELECAM teams on the field as well as the eagerness of Cameroonian citizens to enter their names on electoral registers ahead of the 2025 polls.
