In accordance with the Electoral Code, the Directorate General of Elections is responsible, inter alia, for coordinating the activities of the observers accredited for this election by the competent national authorities.

These election observers may be persons chosen for their neutrality or bodies responsible for verifying the regularity of the conduct of the election.

For these observers, there is a Code of Good Conduct to be respected, the principles of which are as follows:

- respect for the sovereignty of the Cameroonian State by complying with its laws and regulations;

- the mandatory wearing of the identification badge;

- the non-display of a preference for a party or a candidate;

- non-interference in the work of election commissions;

- the refusal of donations, gifts and / or favors of any kind from candidates and other electoral actors, likely to influence the judgment of the observer;

- the abstention of any declaration on the course of the electoral operations before the end of this one.
