2023 Senatorial elections: Here we go!

Section 230 of the Electoral Code stipulates that the electoral college for the election of senators shall be convened by the President of the Republic at least forty-five (45) days before the date of the poll.
Following the convening of the electoral college for this poll on 12 March, the Director General of Elections set up a central commission in charge of the coordination and follow-up of the material and technical organisation of the election of senators on 12 March 2023.
This commission has among other missions the reception and forwarding of nomination papers to the Electoral Board; the establishment of the voter’s register, electoral registers and voters' cards; follow-up of the management of logistical and financial means; communication, public relations, gender approach and disability; follow-up of the printing of electoral documents etc.
To execute its missions, this central commission is structured in several sub-commissions, including the sub-commission in charge of the reception of nomination papers, which started the day after the convening of the electoral college until 28 January 2023.
