Selon l’article 74 du Code électoral les listes électorales sont permanentes. Elles font l’objet d’une révision annuelle sur l’ensemble du territoire national.
Le Directeur Général des Élections a procédé ce mercredi 4 janvier 2023 à Bertoua au lancement officiel de la révision des listes électorales 2023.

Tout a commencé avec une visite de travail au rectorat de l'université de Bertoua où la délégation ELECAM conduite par le Dr Erik Essoussè Directeur Général des Élections a été accueillie par le Vice recteur de cette université.

According to Section 74 of the Electoral Code, electoral registers are permanent. They are subject to an annual revision throughout the national territory.
The Director General of Elections officially launched the revision of the 2023 electoral registers this Wednesday, 4 January 2023, in Bertoua.

It all started with a working visit to the Rectorate of the University of Bertoua where the ELECAM delegation, led by Dr. Erik Essoussè, Director General of Elections, was welcomed by the Vice Rector of the University.

At the end of the working session at the Rectorate, the ELECAM team went to the registration point opened at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of the University of Bertoua, located in the Kano neighbourhood. The Director General of Elections was pleased to note the enthusiasm of the Bertoua university students to enrol on electoral registers.

The students also seized the opportunity to discuss their concerns about the electoral process with the Director General of Elections. Transparency, transfer of registration and electronic voting were among the issues discussed. ELECAM also left its mark by presenting some prizes to some students.

After the university stopover, the next destination was Mandjou, on the outskirts of Bertoua, where another "special" registration point was installed at the Bororo chiefdom. Through this move, the Director General of Elections once again affirmed the importance of taking into account minorities in the electoral process, through a massive obilisation of the Bororo community present.

It is important to specify that ELECAM's vision for this 2023 revision is essentially based on improving the registration of women, minorities and people living with disabilities for an ever more inclusive electoral process.
