"Dear Elections Cameroon officials, Journalists, today’s polling for the election of senators was held hitch-free in all the divisional capitals of the 10 regions of Cameroon. A total of 11 138 senatorial electors including 843 regional councillors and 10 272 municipal councillors were expected in 198 polling stations, which opened at 8 am and closed at 6 pm, in accordance with legal provisions”.
The Director General of Elections made this declaration during a press briefing on 12 March 2023, shortly after voting ended.
After closure of the poll, the various regional supervisory commissions are busy centralising, counting the votes and checking the counting on the basis of reports forwarded by polling stations.
