The Mont Fébé Hotel in Yaoundé served as the framework for the first session of the Elections Cameroon Electoral Council for the year 2018. Among the key points on the agenda of this meeting, which comes just after the setting up of the Constitutional Council, featured prominently the comprehensive assessment of the material and statistical preparations for the election of senators on 25 March. With this in mind, the President of the Electoral Council, in his introductory remarks, returned to the importance of building the capacity of Elecam staff through a series of high-level trainings on the electoral process.
Enow Abraham Egbe also stressed that it was high time to focus more on finding a modus vivendi that will allow the institution to effectively address the expected elections, the first of which will be held on March 25, 2018.
Recall that according to the article 19 paragraph 2 of the Electoral Code, as soon as the electorate is summoned, the meetings of the Electoral Council are held at least once every fortnight.
