This workshop, co-chaired by the Director General of Elections, Erik Essousse and the Resident Representative of UN Women Cameroon, Marie Pierre Raky Chaupin, focused mainly on evaluating and harmonising statistical data on gender mainstreaming in the Senate elections of 12 March 2023.

Promoting greater electoral participation of women as voters, candidates and elected representatives is one of the objectives sought by ELECAM and UN-Women.

At the end of this workshop, the UN-Women representative hailed the ELECAM/UN-Women partnership.

For his part, the Director General of Elections reiterated ELECAM's commitment to continue in the right direction as regards taking gender into account in the electoral process.
