MISSIONS ASSIGNED TO SUPPORT BODIES OF THE DIRECTORATE GENERAL OF ELECTIONS.
The Division in charge of Electoral Operations and Referendums
Placed under the authority of a Head of Division, the Division in charge of Electoral Operations and Referendums is responsible for:
• the preparation, the material organisation and monitoring of electoral operations and referendums;
• the supervision of the drawing up of electoral rolls;
• the supervision of the distribution of voters’ cards, together with Branches;
• the assessment and presentation of needs for the conduct of polls;
• the updating of stocks of election materials;
• the follow-up of necessary security measures for the conduct of polls, in conjunction with the relevant specialised services and Branches;
• the follow-up of the manufacture and procurement of electoral documents;
• the organisation of the dispatch of electoral materials to polling stations, in conjunction with Branches;
• the monitoring of the centralisation of election results and corresponding documents;
• the development of course contents and methodologies for the training of officials and staff of Branches and polling stations;
• the development of didactic materials for the training of staff of Branches and polling stations;
• studies and forecasts.

The Division in charge of Information Technology (IT), the Register of Voters and of Statistics
Placed under the authority of a Head of Division, the Division in charge of Information Technology (IT), the Register of Voters and of Statistics is responsible for:
• contributing to the drawing up of electoral rolls and the establishment of voters’ cards;
• the setting up of a national IT network for the management of electoral operations;
• the computerisation of the National Register of Voters;
• the updating and computerisation of the National Register of Voters;
• the computer-assisted management of electoral operations and election results;
• the updating of the website of Elections Cameroon in conjunction with the Communication and Public Relations Division;
• the maintenance of information technology equipment;
• the provision of basic computer training to Members and personnel of Elections Cameroon;
• the definition of the properties of IT equipment and materials for acquisition
• the determination of standards and capacities of IT equipment to be acquired.

The Division in charge of Administration and Finance
Placed under the authority of a Head of Division, the Division in charge of Administration and Finance is responsible for:
• the preparation of the annual operating draft budget of ELECAM;
• the preparation of the elections draft budget in conjunction with the Division in charge of Electoral Operations;
• the management of the movable and immovable property of ELECAM;
• the preparation of tenders and drafting of contracts for the procurement of goods and services;
• the organisation and follow-up of personnel careers;
• the payment of salaries, allowances and subscriptions;
• the management of funds for petty expenses;
• the organisation of procurement of supplies;
• store-keeping;
• the preparation of the administrative account.

The Division in charge of Communication and Public Relations
Placed under the authority of a Head of Division, the Division in charge of Communication and Public Relations is responsible for:
• the development and implementation of the communication policy of Elections Cameroon;
• the assessment and management of the means of information and sensitisation necessary for the organisation and conduct of elections;
• the media coverage of the electoral process;
• the organisation of information tasks and of relations with the press and other national and international media;
• the monitoring of affairs and the execution of tasks assigned to it by the Director General of Elections.

The Unit in charge of Legal Affairs and Election Disputes
Placed under the authority of a Head of Division, the Unit in charge of Legal Affairs and Election Disputes is responsible for:
• the preparation of draft texts and the formulation of measures to be proposed to the Government in relation to the management of elections or the improvement of the electoral process;
• the defence of the interests of ELECAM before the courts of law;
• the examination of any file submitted to it and within the realm of its competence.

The Unit in charge of Translation and Interpretation
Placed under the authority of a Unit Head, the Unit in charge of Translation and Interpretation is responsible for the translation of documents entrusted to it, within the framework of the missions and activities of Elections Cameroon.

The Service in charge of Cooperation
Placed under the authority of a Service Head, the Service in charge of Cooperation is responsible for following up relations with national and foreign election partners, under the supervision of the Director General of Elections.

The Central Service in charge of Mails, Reception and Liaison
Placed under the authority of a Service Head, the Central Service in charge of Mails, Reception and Liaison is responsible for the handling of in-coming and out-going mails, for liaisons and the forwarding of documents within the central services of Elections Cameroon, to branch offices or to external bodies and persons.

The Central Service in charge of Documentation and Archives
Placed under the authority of a Service Head, the Central Service in charge of Documentation and Archives is responsible for:
• the organisation, constitution and handling of documents necessary for the accomplishment of the missions of Elections Cameroon;
• the establishment of a system for the management of archives;
• the execution of any tasks naturally within its jurisdiction.

The Service in charge of Protection and Security
Placed under the authority of a Service Head, the Service in charge of Protection and Security is responsible for:
• the organisation of the security of the President, the Vice-President and members of the Electoral Board;
• the organisation of the security of the Director General of Elections and Deputy Director General of Elections;
• the security of the residences of the President, the Vice-President, Members of the Electoral Board, the Director General of Elections and the Deputy Director General of Elections, in conjunction with the specialised services of the State;
• the taking of practical measures for the special protection of Members and staff of Elections Cameroon during elections and the protection of the property of ELECAM;
• the coordination of measures to secure the sites where the duties of Elections Cameroon are performed.
