Mr ENOW Abrams EGBE, President of the Electoral Board

Born on 30 December 1961 at Kepelle, ENOW Abrams EGBE hails from the Manyu-Mamfe, South-West Region in the Republic of Cameroon.

Married and father of 5 (five) children, he studied at the University of Yaounde. He later gained admission into the Advanced National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) in 1985 and graduated 2nd best of his batch following higher military training at Ngaoundéré in 1987.

Commander of the National Order of Valour, this Senior Civil Administrator super scale had held the following positions prior to his appointment to the Electoral Board:

  • Legal and Financial Affairs Adviser at the Governor’s Office in the North-West Province, from 1991 to 1993;
  • Sub-Divisional Officer for MISAJE in the Donga-Mantung Division, from 1993 to 1995;
  • Senior Divisional Officer for Menchum in Wum, from 2000 to 2003;
  • Respectively Governor of the South and Adamawa Provinces, from 2003 to 2005 and from 2007 to 2010;
  • Inspector General in charge of Territorial Administration (IGTA) in the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation (MINATD), from 2005 to 2007 and in 2015;
  • Governor of the Adamawa Region, from 2010 to 2012;
  • President of the Anti-Corruption Unit within MINATD, in 2015.

He took oath before the Supreme Court, seating as the Constitutional Council in 2017: “I swear to fully and faithfully discharge my duties and to exercise my office without fear or favour in accordance with the Constitution and laws in force, to ensure the confidentiality of proceedings and votes, to abstain from taking public positions and to decline any consultation on matters falling under the purview of Elections Cameroon”
