Born on 11 April 1967 at Ossing-Manyu, Christopher TIKU TAMBE hails from South-West Region, Republic of Cameroon.

After university studies from 1989 to 2004, he obtained a Bachelor of Law (LLB) in 1992 at the University of Yaounde, Cameroon. He later obtained a Master of Law (LLM) at the University of Hull, in England, in 2004.

Prior to his appointment as member of the Electoral Board, he had held the following positions:

  • Part-time employee at the British Council in Yaounde, from 1992 to 1997;
  • Director of the B. Sooknanan & Associates Law Chambers, Lesotho, from 1997 to 2007 ;
  • Executive Director of Christ Debt and Legal Consultancy (PYT) Ltd, Lesotho, from 2001 to 2003;
  • Part-time lecturer, University of Buea;
  • Regional Secretary for the National Commission for Human Rights and Freedoms, Buea.

Christopher TIKU TAMBE is author of several research works, reports and other publications.

He took oath on 21 July 2011 before the Supreme Court, seating as the Constitutional Council: “I swear to fully and faithfully discharge my duties and to exercise my office without fear or favour in accordance with the Constitution and laws in force, to ensure the confidentiality of proceedings and votes, to abstain from taking public positions and to decline any consultation on matters falling under the purview of Elections Cameroon”
