#237Vote2020 legislative and municipal elections Sixth session as of right of the Electoral Board

Chaired by the Chairperson of the Electoral Board, Enow Abrams Egbe, the sixth session as of right of the Electoral Board held this Thursday, 23 January 2020, at the Conference Hall of the 5th floor of the Directorate General of Elections, located at the administrative neighbourhood in Yaounde.

A few days before the twin legislative and municipal elections schedule on 9 February 2020, Members of the Electoral Board are determined to put in place a common strategy to enable effective monitoring and supervision of the upcoming electoral campaign throughout the national territory.

In his preliminary remarks, Mr Enow Abrams Egbe, chairperson of the Electoral Board, urged his colleagues to keep in mind their vision which, beyond political and electoral issues, must remain constant in order to achieve the objectives of the Electoral Board consisting of increasing integrity, inclusion, transparency and credibility of the electoral process.

He also invited his peers to carry out a precise assessment of the level of preparations and also agree on the terms of reference for the next field trip, during which they must take care of the final details and provide adequate solutions to any difficulties and unforeseen circumstances that may arise on election day.

As of today, the overall percentage of preparation for the upcoming twin elections is estimated at 80%.
